About the AT Internet audience measurement tool :

AT Internet's audience measurement tool Analytics is deployed on this site in order to obtain information on visitors' navigation and to improve its use.

Laboratory facilities

UREP research is supported by laboratory facilities at two sites (2 km apart): VetAgro Sup (Lempdes agronomic campus) and INRAE (Crouël site). Our laboratory capacity focuses on three main areas of analysis: C and N elemental analysis, characterization of soil microbiological activities and characterization of soil physico-chemical properties.

We are equipped to carry out elemental analyses on solid, liquid and gaseous samples, with instruments which include:

  • A segmented flow colorimeter with a NO3- module, and a NH4+ module (AA3 single channel, Brann and Luebbe).
  • An analyzer for total carbon, total organic carbon, inorganic carbon and total nitrogen (TOCL CPH-TNM-L, Shimadzu).
  • A CN elemental analyzer (Flash EA112, ThermoFisher).
  • A Near Infrared Spectrometer (SPIR), nitrogen and mineral content predictions on plants (6500, FOSS).
  • Gas chromatography (GC) apparatus equipped with 2 detectors (TCD and PDHID) to determine CO2, N2, N2O, CH4, O2 (Clarus 480, Perkin Elmer).
  • A laser spectrometer with resonant absorption amplification (G2101i, Picarro) applied to the measurement of CO2 trace and CO2 isotope ratio (δ13C).

Characterization of soil microbiological (biological and enzymatic) activities is possible with the following equipment:

  • A fluorescence optical microscope (Zeiss).
  • A microbiological safety station (type 2).
  • A UV-visible microplate spectrometer (Powerwave XS, Biotek).

The characterization of the physicochemical properties of the soil (texture, cation exchange capacity, major exchangeable elements, ...) benefits from the following equipment:

  • An automatic granulometric sampling machine, for the determination of the relative weight of different classes of particles: sands, clays and silts (SP1000, Skalar).
  • A flame atomic absorption spectrometer, for the determination of Ca2+, Na+, Mg2+, K+ (AA240FS, Varian).
  • A conductivity pH meter (Inolab, WTW).
