Dr Christine Morand leads the Diet, Plant food bioactives & Vascular Health research group (NutriVasc) of the Human Nutrition Unit. She is also member of Scientific Council of the Food Research Department at INRA.

She is working for 10 years in the field of Nutrition & Health to study the role of dietary polyphenols in the prevention of cardiovascular diseases through a translational approach.This research includes human intervention studies with non-invasive assessment of vascular function, supplementation studies in animal models of atherosclerosis and cell experiments on vascular and immune cells. Previously she developped research on the absorption and metabolism of polyphenols.

Presently, she chairs the European COST-Action POSITIVe (FA1403) that addresses the interindividual variation in bioavailability and bioactivity in response to the consumption of plant food bioactives in relation to cardiometabolic outcomes. This multidisciplinary scientific network involves more than 70 research institutions from 31 European countries (http://www6.inra.fr/cost-positive). 

Since 2018, she is the Editor-in-chief of Food&Function.

- PI of an INRA-Métaprogramme Grant: "Endothelial biomarkers as new predictive tools to identify the impact of diet on cardiovascular risk and on overall health status" (2013-14)

- Co-Investigator on a FP7 Grant: Targeted delivery of dietary flavanols for optimal human cell function: Effects on cardiovascular health (FLAVIOLA) (2009-13)

- PI of FDOC Grants (Florida Department of Citrus, Florida States, USA);

- (RFP 07-09): "Effects of flavonoids from grapefruit juice consumption on vascular function in post-menopausal women" (2011-14).

- (RFP 05-11): "Effect of the consumption of orange juice on vascular protection and immune function in healthy subjects – A human study on the specific contribution of orange flavanones » (2009-11).

- WP leader of a French National Research Agency Grant (ANR-06-PNRA-013): "Effect of a regular citrus fruit consumption on vascular protection" (2007-10).
