INRA's variety breeding programme for common wheat (IVD BLADE) regularly leads to the registration of varieties protected by a Plant Variety Certificate (VOC). These varieties are selected with the objective of allowing a more environmentally friendly agriculture, and are therefore adapted to conduct with reduced inputs that can go as far as organic farming. INRA's breeding program also tries to register varieties in the different technological classes required by the market (Enhancing or Force Wheat, Superior Bread Wheat, Bread Wheat, Bread Wheat, Bread Wheat, and Wheat for Other Uses).
